Mr Gautam Mehra is a highly experienced consultant gynaecologist, gynaecological oncologist, and gynaecological surgeon in London. His speciality focuses are fibroids, endometriosis, irregular periods, polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS), as well as laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Mr Mehra currently practises at his two private clinics in addition to his work with the NHS.

After receiving his primary medical qualification in 1996 from the University of Mysore, Mr Mehra underwent his core training in London and at other London centres such as St Bartholomew’s, St George’s, Queen Charlotte’s, and Chelsea & Hammersmith Hospitals. In 2006, he received his membership with the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. To further his specialisation, Mr Mehra undertook many advanced trainings, especially in various forms of gynaecological surgery.

In 2012, Mr Mehra had completed two trainings at cancer centres and was additionally awarded the International Fellowship for Indian College of Obstetrics & Gynaecology (ICOG) the same year. Currently, Mr Mehra is completing his PhD in robotics from King’s College London as part of the Department of Informatics (Centre of Robotic Research -CoRe). His goal is to study how to make medical robots more receptive using a specialised technology known as haptic technology.

Mr Mehra is incredibly involved in his field outside of his practices, as he is the lead for many teams, such as for the Gynaecology Rapid-Access one-stop outpatient clinic at GSTT and the Gynaecology group in the Genetic clinic for BRCA mutation careers at risk of Gynaecological cancer and offers counselling. He continues to conduct research and is interested in the application of sensor probes in detecting gynaecological cancers and other benign gynaecological conditions, as well as bettering tactile sensation during laparoscopic and robotic surgery. Mr Mehra has introduced a robotic programme at Guys’ and St Thomas’ Hospital, where he also is the lead for robotic surgery.

Additionally, Mr Mehra has had publications in many peer-reviewed journals on gynaecology and gynaecological cancers and has been invited to present at national and international scientific meetings and has co-authored a textbook in laparoscopic surgery. Furthermore, he has been extensively involved in training roles for future surgeons and gynaecologists. Presently, Mr Mehra is the preceptor for Advanced Training Skills Module in Gynaecological Oncology in London deanery for postgraduate doctors.

Mr Daniel Fagan is a leading consultant spinal surgeon based in Darlington, Harrogate and Stockton-on-Tees who specialises in balloon kyphoplasty, adult degenerative spinal conditions and minimally invasive spinal surgery, alongside percutaneous discectomy, cervical disc replacement and low back pain. He privately practises at Woodlands Hospital, The Duchy Hospital and Nuffield Tees Hospital. 

Mr Fagan is highly qualified with an MBChB from Bristol University in 1995 and also has an MRCS (Eng) and FRCS (Fr&Orth) from the Royal College of Surgeons. His background in orthopaedic and trauma surgery has been developed over 25 years of practise, meaning he has a wide range of experience in the field. Furthermore, he has detailed spinal fellowship training and has developed his own expertise in treating painful conditions and adult scoliosis or deformity correction.  

Mr Fagan, who is the only surgeon in the region to offer expertise in percutaneous discectomy, or laser discectomy, is also an expert in balloon kyphoplasty. He brought this treatment to patients with osteoporotic fractures in the area 10 years ago. He also has expertise in managing acute spinal cord injuries and complex adult spinal trauma in isolation, or within the sphere of multiple trauma and critically-injured or unwell patients.

Mr Fagan was an early adopter of minimal access treatment of osteoporotic fractures of the spine with vertebral body augmentation, and his research into this, as well as various other orthopaedic and spinal surgery topics, has been published in various peer-reviewed journals. This has led to him being invited to speak at international meetings and teach these techniques to other consultants.

Mr Fagan is a respected clinical leader, and is an advisor for the National Institute of Clinical Excellence, the Chairman of the Medical Advisory Committee and is part of the senior management for clinical governance and patient safety at Woodlands Hospital. He is also the Clinical Chair of Circle Health Group. 

Mr Fagan is a member of various professional organisations including the British Association of Spinal Surgeons (BASS), British Scoliosis Society (BSS) and AO International Spine.

Mr Marco Scarci is a highly respected consultant thoracic surgeon based in London. He is renowned for his expertise in keyhole surgery, particularly in the treatment of lung cancer and pneumothorax (collapsed lung). He also specialises in rib fractures, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), chest wall deformities and emphysema.
 
Mr Scarci qualified as a doctor of medicine with honours in 2001 at Italy’s Università degli Studi ‘Gabriele d’Annunzio’ di Chieti, before pursuing further specialist training in cardiothoracic surgery. In addition, he completed an additional six-month thoracic surgery fellowship at the University of Toronto, Canada in 2011 and that same year, was appointed as a consultant thoracic surgeon at Papworth Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. Following this, he went on to work at University College London Hospital, San Gerardo Hospital, Italy and Imperial College NHS Healthcare Trust, where he is currently based. With his wealth of experience and expertise in both surgical and non-surgical treatment for a wide range of conditions, Mr Scarci is regarded as one of the UK’s leading practitioners in the field of thoracic surgery, whose skill and dedication has been recognised with several awards, including an NHS Clinical Excellence award in 2013. He sees private patients at OneWelbeck, the Harley Street Clinic and the Sainsbury Wing, Imperial Private Healthcare.
 
Throughout his esteemed career, Mr Scarci has held a number of senior positions. He previously led chest wall database and pleural malignancies working groups for the European Society of Thoracic Surgeons and was also formerly a council member and director of the Society’s annual conference, the largest conference in thoracic surgery in the world. He also forms part of several of the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence’s (NICE) working groups. Mr Scarci is also a leading name in medical education and is an honorary clinical senior lecturer at Imperial College London and a senior clinical tutor at University of Cambridge.
 
Mr Scarci has an extensive background in academic research and has authored over one hundred and thirty publications which appear in leading peer-reviewed journals. With his wealth of expertise, he is a co-speciality chief editor for thoracic surgery in the revered Frontiers in Surgery academic journal and is an associate editor of the Journal of Thoracic Disease and the Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, the most prestigious in his speciality. He is also the author and editor of four published books on minimally invasive and open thoracic surgery.
 
Mr Scarci regularly presents at key conferences in the field of thoracic surgery. He is an appointed fellow of a number of highly respected professional bodies, including the Royal College of Surgeons of England, the American College of Chest Physicians, the American College of Surgeons and the European Board of Cardiothoracic Surgery.
