About Dr. Ajay Handa Dr. Ajay Handa is a respected Pulmonologist practicing successfully for more than 22 years in the field. He is a Member of the API Association of Physicians of India, National College of Chest Physicians (India), National Association for the study of lung cancer India, Indian Society Aerospace Medicine, Marine Medicine Society of India. and India Association of Bronchology. He is a Fellow of American College of Chest Physicians, Illinois, USA, 2010, Fellow of Indian College of Physicians, Mumbai, India, 2018, and Fellow of Academy of Pulmonary Sciences (FAPS), PGIMER, Chandigarh, India, 2012. He pursued his MBBS from the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune in 1985, MD – Internal Medicine from the same University in 1995, DM (Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine) from Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research in 2004, and also went on to accomplish DNB – Internal Medicine from the National Board of Examinations, New Delhi in 1999. Dr. Handa has won many awards such as All India 1st Rank Gold Medal – DNB Medicine, Professor Shurvir Trust Visiting Professorship Award by API – 2017, and many more. Along with writing for various publications and journals, he has also presented numerous abstracts of his research at national & international conferences. His areas of interest include Lung Infections, Asthma, COPD, Allergic broncho-pulmonary Aspergillosis, diffuse parenchymal lung diseases, CTD related interstitial lung disease, Sarcoidosis, Drug-induced lung diseases, and pulmonary hypertension.
