He is a professional member of reputed organizations such as the Bangalore Orthopaedic Society, Indian Orthopaedic Association, and Royal College of Surgeons, the UK. He did his MBBS from Karnatak Medical College, Hubli; Diploma in Orthopaedics from Kasturba Medical College, 1997; DNB – Orthopedics/Orthopedic Surgery from St John’s Medical College, Bangalore in 1999, and MRCS (UK) from Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons (RCPS), Glasgow in 2005. He received British Council Sponsorship for higher training in Orthopaedics at the U.K and obtained two advanced fellowships in the fields of Computer-aided joint Replacement and Revision Joint Replacement from Leeds & Bradford Teaching Hospitals, the U.K. Dr. Basavaraj has written scientific articles on lower limb arthroplasty and limb reconstruction and attends various CME sessions on a global scale to keep himself updated on recent advances.
