About Dr. Uma Mallaiah Dr. Uma Mallaiah is a renowned opthalmologist with an experience of more than 20 years. She has done 3500 cataract surgeries and 500 glaucoma surgeries successfully. She was awarded for best research presentation in the Northern Region, United Kingdom. She was offered distinction in the 4th year of medical college. She specializes in Lasik surgery, Phacoemulsification Surgery (MICS), Refractive Surgery and Evisceration with Orbital Implant. She also performs Trabeculectomy with SICS and Traumatic Lid Repair. Apart from this, she is also expert in Glaucoma, Entropion, Ectropion, DCR and DCT. She is actively involved in corporate and international marketing and organized camps at the American embassy, Hero Honda and Indian Oil Corporation She played a key role to set up the Eye Department at Dubai as a joint venture of Apollo Hospitals. She did her MBBS from Bangalore University in 1994, DNB in Ophthalmology from Cristan Medical College in 1997. She further did FRCS(UK) and was a fellow of Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh).
