About Dr Major Rengan Dr RS Rengan is one of the best Laparoscopic Surgeons in Chennai with a career expanding over 34 years. He is refining his skill as a Laparoscopic Surgeon for the past 16 years in the speciality area of minimal access gastrointestinal surgery. He specialises in Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal, Hernia, and Colo-rectal surgery. He also has a special interest in Endocrine Surgery including thyroid and breast surgery. He is a world-renowned Hernia Surgeon who has been dedicating his skill to understanding and solving the complexity of Hernia. He teaches and trains surgeons all over the world in Hernia Surgery and started the Chennai Hernia Centre to devote time to the field of hernia surgery. He is an ATLS certified Trauma Surgeon and had a great experience in polytrauma including bullet and bomb injuries as well as road traffic accidents. Dr Rengan is a member of The Associations of Surgeons of India, Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India, and the Indian Association of Endocrine Surgeons. He was a Gold Medalist in Physiology, Pathology and General Medicine and ranking 1st in MBBS first and final years. He was also a Gold Medallist in General surgery – AFMC, Pune University.
