About Dr. Ruben Manohara Dr. Ruben Manohara is an orthopedic surgeon having more than 15 years of expertise. Services provided by him includes the management of simple and complex trauma, sports injuries, and degenerative conditions, particularly of the shoulder and elbow. Dr. Manohara earned a bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from the NUS Faculty of Medicine in 2004. After that, he finished his postgraduate surgical training in orthopaedics. He was accepted as a member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Orthopaedic Surgery during his postgraduate training. He obtained the NUHS Academic Medicine Development Award after completing his specialised training and went on to pursue a one-year clinical fellowship at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh in the United Kingdom. There, he developed his skills in complex trauma, sports injuries, arthroscopy, and upper limb joint replacement surgery. He has expertise in the primary, revision, and trauma care of upper limb arthroscopic surgery, sports injuries, simple and complex fractures, and shoulder and elbow joint replacements. Additionally, he was a member of the NUHS hip fracture team that was recognised in 2019 by the Ministry of Health (MOH) for excellence in value-driven outcomes. Dr. Manohara is also strongly committed to medical education at the undergraduate and graduate levels in Singapore and the surrounding countries. He was tasked with instructing and grading medical students as well as postgraduate orthopaedic residents while serving as an assistant professor in the orthopaedic surgery department at NUS. Dr. Manohara has a long list of publications in prestigious international journals. Additionally, he has written a chapter to a book on orthopaedic basic research and delivered numerous oral presentations at major scientific conferences. Dr. Ruben Manohara is fluent in English, Malay, Mandarin, and Tamil.
