About Dr. Kwhan-Mien Kim Dr. Kwhan-Mien Kim is a South Korean Pulmonologist with 20+ years of experience in the field. He has been a pioneer in VATS (video-assisted thoracic surgery) and is a well-known thoracic surgeon worldwide. He was the chief organizer of the VATS Center for Excellence Education Program for Asian thoracic surgeons and has co-published the educational DVD âVideo Atlas of VATSâ for trainees. He has conducted several demonstrations of live surgery (VATS lobectomy) in Asian countries and has contributed enormously to the improvement of the VATS technique and to promoting it among Asian surgeons. His areas of interest include Lung Infections, Asthma, COPD, Allergic broncho-pulmonary Aspergillosis, CTD related interstitial lung disease, Sarcoidosis, Drug-induced lung diseases, pulmonary hypertension, etc. Along with writing for various publications and journals, he has also presented numerous abstracts of his research at national and international conferences.
