Dr Samiya Rahman is a respected consultant dermatologist based at the Belfast Skin Clinic. She specialises in all areas of general dermatology, including paediatrics, skin cancer and vulval dermatology.
Dr Rahman qualified from Barts and The London School of Medicine and Dentistry in 2008 after also obtaining a bachelor of science degree in sports and exercise medicine. She undertook her specialist training in dermatology at Addenbrookes Hospital in Cambridge and Sheffield’s Royal Hallamshire Hospital and was awarded membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2013. Dr Rahman has held consultant dermatologist positions at both Sheffield Children’s Hospital and at Hereford County Hospital where she formed part of the department who were nationally recognised as dermatology team of the year at the British Medical Journal awards in 2021. She now works in private practice offering a full dermatology service at the renowned Belfast Skin Clinic.
Dr Rahman gave an award-winning presentation to the British Society for Paediatric Dermatology and has also presented nationally and internationally for several esteemed bodies including the British Association of Dermatology, the Royal Society of Medicine and the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology. Also, her academic work is published in peer reviewed journals, including Clinical and Experimental Dermatology.
Dr Rahman has also undertaken the organisation and delivery of a number of teaching and training programmes for fellow colleagues, GPs and medical students at institutions including the Barts and The London School of Medicine and the University of Cambridge.
