About

Mr Paul Culpan is a highly-esteemed consultant trauma and orthopaedic surgeon (hip & knee) based in London. His areas of expertise include pelvic and acetabular surgery, trauma rehabilitation, hip surgery, hip replacement, knee replacement, sports injuries and meniscal surgery.

Mr Culpan qualified with a degree in medicine from the University of Manchester in 1996, before going on to complete a fellowship in Paris, France at the prestigious orthopaedic training centre, Garches. He then worked as a consultant surgeon in the United Arab Emirates for two and a half years, before joining the Royal London Hospital.

Mr Culpan currently practises privately at London International Patient Services, HCA UK at The Shard, The London Clinic and 31 Old Broad Street. In addition to his private practices, he also works as a consultant at Europe’s largest trauma centre, the Royal London Hospital. He began working at this hospital in April 2010, and set up a pelvic and acetabular trauma service, which quickly developed into one of the busiest services of its kind in the country. He is a member of London International Patient Services (LIPS).

Mr Culpan is internationally renowned for his surgical skills, being one of the few surgeons in the world that performs customised hip replacements using minimally invasive techniques and more complex hip replacement surgery. He is also highly experienced in performing revision hip replacements. Mr Culpan offers the latest technology in hip and knee replacement, including CT planning. He also offers customised implants for bespoke hip and knee surgery.

Another of his specialties is the management of complex trauma patients, including pelvic and acetabular fractures. He is, once again, one of the few surgeons globally who can perform the “fix and replace” to treat these fractures.

Mr Culpan has extensive experience in treating international patients who come to London for the best private care possible, and as CEO of London International Patient Services, he has collaborated with some of the UK’s leading consultants to maintain this impeccable standard.
