About Dr. Cenk Buyukunal Dr. Cenk Büyükünal is a pediatrician with 37+ years of experience. He has won 8 prestigious awards (4 of which are international) and has received the Eczacıbaşı Science Award in 1987 and 1989. He has published more than 202 articles in national and international journals and was editor and writer of 15 books. He has attended approximately 500 national and international conferences. He is a certified FEAPS of the European Pediatric Surgeons Association (EUPSA) and recognized FEAPU (fellow of the European Academy of Pediatric Urology). Dr. Cenk is chief editor of the Turkish Journal of Pediatric Surgery and assistant editor of the Journal of Pediatric Surgery and Pediatric Surgery International. He was awarded Honorary Fellowships from the Egyptian Pediatric Surgical Association (EPSA) and from the Royal College of Surgeons of England. He is a member of the European Pediatric Surgeons’ Association (EUPSA), European Society for Pediatric Urology (ESPU), the International Society of Pediatric Surgical Oncology, the International Society of Pediatric Oncology, the British Association of Pediatric Surgeons (BAPS), the Society for Pediatric Urology (PEDURO), the Turkish Pediatric Surgical Association (TÇCD), the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), and board member of European Academy of Pediatric Urology (EAPU). He graduated from Istanbul University, Istanbul in 1976, completed a residency in general surgery from Istanbul University, Istanbul in 1980, a residency from pediatric surgery from Istanbul University, Istanbul in 1983 and residency in pediatric urology from Istanbul University, Istanbul in 1993.
