About Dr. Omer Faruk Yilmaz Dr. Ömer Faruk Yilmaz is an eye specialist with over 40 years of experience in this profession. The doctor’s services include cataract, glaucoma, refractive and retina surgery, and many more.  In 1973, he completed medical school at Hacettepe University Faculty of Medicine, earning the title of doctor. In 1977, he completed his eye speciality at Hacettepe University Medical Faculty Hospital, earning the title of ophthalmologist. Dr. Ömer Faruk Yilmaz served as Assistant Chief of the Dusseldorf University Duisburg Academic Hospital from 1978 to 1984, alongside Prof. Holland. In this hospital, he did 6,000 eye procedures.  He successfully conducted several innovative surgeries after returning to his birthplace, many of which were performed for the first time in Turkey and the world. In 1983, he was promoted to Associate Professor, and in 1995, he was promoted to Professor. In total, he completed nearly 30,000 operations. Dünya Eye Hospital, Turkey’s first eye hospital, was founded by him in 1996. In 1998, he was named Chief Physician and Eye Clinic Chief at the Ministry of Health’s Beyolu Eye Training and Research Hospital.  He continues to accept patients in his private practise after retiring from this facility. Dr. Ömer Faruk Yilmaz is fluent in English.
