About Adj Asst Prof. Ong Ming Liang Andrew Dr. Andrew Ong is a well-known Gastroenterologist and is graduated with MBChB (Honours) from the University of Edinburgh and completed his postgraduate degrees in Internal Medicine, MRCP (UK). He then obtained specialist accreditation in the field of Gastroenterology & Hepatology. He completed his fellowship training at Alfred Hospital & Monash University, Melbourne, where he learned advanced integrated medical, psychological, and dietary management of Irritable Bowel Syndrome and other functional gastrointestinal and motility disorders. From this fellowship, he also was trained in intestinal ultrasound and became one of the pioneering gastroenterologists in Singapore to use intestinal ultrasound in the non-invasive evaluation of bowel disorders. His areas of interest include Irritable Bowel Syndrome, Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease, Pelvic Floor Disorders, and Gastrointestinal motility disorders such as swallowing disorders.  He has a particular interest in medical education and has received several teaching awards for his contribution to medical education. He was previously the Associate Programme Director in the SingHealth Internal Medicine Residency program from 2017 to 2019 and is currently the Programme Director of the Singhealth Gastroenterology Residency Programme.
