Dr. Manevitz is also the founder of Sutton Place TMS Center. TMS (Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation) is a treatment for those who suffer from depression and feel they have not received full relief from medication. TMS Therapy is non-invasive treatment (no anesthesia or sedation) that uses highly focused pulsed magnetic waves to stimulate nerve cells in the area of the brain which is thought to control mood.
In 1992 and 2001, Dr. Manevitz offered his services at the sites of the World Trade Center attacks. He has also extended his hand during the TWA 800 and Swiss Air disasters and Hurricane Katrina. In 1999 he co-founded e-Shrinks, an innovative broadband company providing mental health services on the internet.
