About Dr. Alok Sharma With 27+ years of experience, Dr. Alok Sharma is a renowned Neurosurgeon. He has treated more than 9500 patients with Cell Therapy for Autism, Cerebral Palsy, Muscular Dystrophy, Spinal Cord Injury, Stroke, etc.  Director of NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute, he has worked at the Karolinska Hospital in Stockholm Sweden where neural transplantation was done for the first time in the world in 1995. He has also worked at the University of Colorado health sciences center in Denver, the USA where the world’s first randomized trial for cell transplantation was done for Parkinson’s disease in 1998. He started a “Neurorehabilitation clinic” – a multidisciplinary clinic for patients of head injury which was the second of its kind in India. Dr. Alok Sharma has authored 22 books, 150+ scientific publications to his credit and over 250 scientific presentations at International and National conferences and meetings.  He has organized and arranged over 25 National and International Conferences/Seminars in various specialized aspects of Neurosurgery & Regenerative Medicine. He did many trainings at various hospitals, including the National Hospital for Neurology and Neurosurgery London UK; University Clinic Freiburg Germany; Nihon University Tokyo Japan; Osaka City University Hospital, Osaka, Japan; MCP Hahnemann University Pittsburgh USA; Allegheny General Hospital Pittsburg USA; University Hospital Zurich Switzerland and the W.M. Keck Center for Collaborative Neurosciences at the State University of New Jersey Piscataway New Jersey USA. He successfully did India’s first “Motor Cortex Stimulation operation” for intractable pain following Thalamic Intracerebral bleed, November 2006 and performed the surgical removal of the Largest recorded collection of Intracranial Worm cysts (Hydatid) in the world. He is Vice President, International Association of Neurorestoratology (IANR). Dr. Alok, along with his team at NeuroGen Brain and Spine Institute, is the first in the world to publish its Autism case series data, Intellectual Disability case series data in the international peer-reviewed scientific journal. He has been awarded many prestigious awards such as Bharat Gaurav award for Distinguished Services to the Nation and Outstanding Individual Achievements at the renowned place of the world, the House of Commons of the British Parliament in London, UK; “Rose of Paracelsus Award 2016” by European Medical Association, Cannes France; “Sushrut Award 2010” for “exemplary and outstanding contribution in the field of surgery with the social and charitable aspect”, at the 10th anniversary and award ceremony organized by the Red Swastik, Mumbai, January 2011 amongst many others.
