About Dr. Anandakumar Vellasamy Dr. Anandakumar Vellasamy is an orthopedic specialist surgeon having more than 15 years of expertise. Services provided by him includes complex foot and ankle conditions, lower limb trauma and sports injuries. The National University of Singapore (NUS) awarded Dr. Ananda a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Science (MBBS) degree in 2003. During his time working as a houseman in medicine, he won the Best Houseman Award. He continued his postgraduate training in orthopaedic surgery and earned his fellowship from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh, United Kingdom. In 2014, Dr. Ananda was in the final year of his orthopaedic residency when he was given the N. Balachandran Memorial Lectureship prize. He also received the renowned AO Trauma fellowship prize the following year, in 2015. Dr. Ananda has further professional interests outside of medicine. He instructs family medicine residents, orthopaedic surgery residents, and medical students at the Duke-NUS Medical School and the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. He participated in the Master of Medicine in Orthopedic Surgery Committee, which oversaw the junior orthopaedic surgery residents’ training. The AO Foundation, the American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons (AAOS), the European Society of Sports, Traumatology, Knee Surgery, and Arthroscopy, the American Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society, the Singapore Orthopaedic Association, and the Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society of Singapore are among the international organisations that Dr. Ananda has held membership in and continues to hold.  Dr. Anandakumar Vellasamy is fluent in English, Mandarin, and Tamil.
