About
Dr Andrew Inglis is a renowned consultant ophthalmologist based in Glasgow, with more than 25 years of experience. Dr Inglis is highly experienced in a wide range of eye conditions and treatments. His areas of expertise include cataract surgery, iStent injections for glaucoma, YAG laser capsulotomy, glaucoma, selective laser trabeculoplasty (SLT) and small incision cataract surgery.
Dr Inglis first qualified with an MB ChB from the University of Glasgow in 1993, before going on to specialise in ophthalmology, with an FRCOphth from the Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
Dr Inglis has worked at a number of leading hospitals across the UK, and currently practices privately at the Ross Hall Clinic Braehead in Glasgow. He is also a substantive consultant and the Glaucoma Lead for NHS Ayrshire and Arran. Between 2008 and 2014 he was the region’s clinical director for ophthalmology. He has a passion for providing the best care possible for each patient, and is proud to have a very low complication rate.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr Inglis has an interest in medical research, having published numerous articles in peer-reviewed scientific articles. He also teaches medical students on a regular basis, both in a clinical setting and the operating theatre. He is a recipient of the McCartney prize for Ophthalmic Pathology.
