About Dr. Anoop Misra Dr. Anoop Misra is a respected Endocrinologist with 40+ years of experience in the field. He has been awarded highest award for medicine in India Dr BC Roy award (2006) and prestigious National Honor, Padma Shree (2007). He has worked in several prestigious medical institutions such as a member of faculty at the Department of Endocrinology and Human Nutrition of the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center and as a Fellow of the World Health Organization at Department of Diabetes and Cardiovascular Risk of the Royal Free Hospital, UK. Dr. Misra has served two Indian Prime Ministers as their honorary physician and has delivered many award lectures. He also has more than 30 years of experience in teaching, service, research and community health intervention programs directed towards Asian Indians and particularly for underprivileged people. He has been a lead investigator onbody composition, including imaging of abdominal fat depots, liver, and pancreatic fat in Indians. He has written numerous articles on use of inadequately tested drugs and use of low cost insulins in India and has research collaborations with scientists from USA, UK, Australia, Netherlands, Canada, Malaysia, and Sweden.
