Dr Ashraf Khan is a highly skilled consultant ophthalmic surgeon based in Edinburgh who specialises in the vitreoretinal treatment of surgical and medical conditions of the retina, including epiretinal membrane, diabetic retinopathy, and maculopathy.With more than 15 years’ clinical experience, he also provides routine and complex cataract surgery, intravitreal injections, and laser treatment and surgery, achieving outstanding visual acuity outcomes. Dr Khan currently sees patients at the renowned Eye Surgery Scotland eye care centre.
Dr Khan qualified from the University of Edinburgh. He then completed ophthalmology training in Yorkshire and the South East of Scotland before going on to accomplish advanced vitreoretinal training in Edinburgh and at Birmingham and Midland Eye Centre, the second-largest eye centre of its kind in Europe. A fellow of The Royal College of Ophthalmologists, Dr Khan is also a consultant ophthalmologist at The Princess Alexandra Eye Pavilion, where he is involved in the modernisation of ophthalmic theatre equipment used across the Lothians. Further to his high-quality ophthalmic practice, Dr Khan is an invited speaker at national meetings and an educational supervisor and college tutor for The Royal College of Ophthalmologists.
