About Dr. Biju K Gopinath Dr. Biju K Gopinath is a leading Kidney Transplant surgeon with +20 years of experience performing renal transplants and treating major kidney disorders.  His professional affiliations include memberships of the, International Society of Nephrology, the Indian Society of Nephrology, the Emirates Association of Nephrology and with the American Society of Nephrology as an associate member. He holds a graduate degree from the University of Calicut, and a MD degree too. He then earned a DM qualification from the Government Medical College Calicut, where he even continued as Asst. Professor. Dr. Gopinath is credited with pioneering the use of Rituximab in primary glomerular diseases and systemic lupus erythematosus. He has also pioneered the chronic ambulatory peritoneal dialysis programme at Thrissur. He has been part of several research trials.  He is reputed as a kidney transplant surgeon. Apart from the renal transplants, Dr. Gopinath also does percutaneous CAPD catheter placement, treats refractory lupus nephritis, chronic hepatitis C, primary glomerular diseases, systemic lupus erythematosus, diabetic kidney disease, cardio-renal syndromes, cystic kidney diseases, prevention of progression of CKD and hemodialysis.
