Dr Bushra Rana is a highly regarded consultant cardiologist in London, where she currently practises at the Cleveland Clinic London. Her clinical specialties are heart failure, valvular and structural heart disease, palpitations, shortness of breath, and valve repair.

In 1993, Dr Rana received her primary medical qualification from the St Bartholomew’s Hospital Medical Scholl. She undertook her specialty training in cardiology at Southampton and St Mary’s, Royal Brompton, Hammersmith and King’s College Hospitals. In 2009, Dr Rana was first appointed as a consultant cardiologist in Papworth Hospital, Cambridge, and more recently has continued to practise in Imperial College Healthcare Trust, London. 

Dr Rana is an incredibly active leader, educator, and participant in her field. She holds member and chair positions in multiple societies, councils, and boards, prominently one being the Education Committee Chair for the British Society of Echocardiography. Another noteworthy role she holds is as a board member for the CSI Foundation, which is not-for-profit organisation that aims to improve development in structural, valvular, and congenital heart interventions worldwide.

As her involvement in cardiology and her experience are so extensive, Dr Rana has been an invited speaker to numerous leading meetings and conferences internationally; she has an opinion on valvular heart and structural heart disease that is greatly listened to. Overall, she has published more than 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals, including book chapters and national guidelines. Dr Rana maintains a passionate interest in research into the diagnosis, management, and interventions of valvular and structural heart disease.
