About Dr. Chang Haw Chong Dr. Chang Haw Chong is a Specialist Orthopedic Surgeon at Synergy Orthopaedic Group Pte Ltd of Mount Alvernia Hospital, Singapore. He has more than 25 years of experience and holds expertise in treating anterior cruciate ligament injuries. After completing his graduation from the NUS in 1994, he attained fellowships from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and the Royal College of Surgeons and Physicians of Glasgow. He further obtained his Master of Medicine in General Surgery from the National University of Singapore. Dr. Chang is the first orthopedic trainee from Singapore who obtained his FRCS Edin (Orth) in 2001.  In 2003, he was privileged with the Ministry of Health HMDP Scholarship to train as a Clinical Fellow in Orthopaedic Sports Medicine at the University of Louisville, Kentucky, USA. In 2004, he set up the CSMC Anterior Cruciate Ligament (ACL) Programme in which he treated over 250 patients with anterior cruciate ligament injuries annually and eventually became the Director of Orthopaedic Sports Service in 2007. He has also served as a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon in Changi General Hospital and as Deputy-Head of the Changi Sports Medicine Center (CSMC).
