About Dr. Chanshik Shim Dr. Chanshik Shim is an eminent and an experienced Neurosurgeon with +25 years of experience with a special focus on minimally-invasive spinal surgeries and techniques.  Dr. Shim is professionally affiliated to the, International North American Spine Society International Society for Advancement of Spine Surgery, the AO Spine Royal College of Surgeon (US), the International Musculoskeletal Laser Society, the  Korean Neurosurgical Society, the Korean Society of Minimal Intervention in Spinal Surgery and the  Korean Musculoskeletal Laser Society among a few others. He completed his medical studies with an MD in 1987 from Kyung-Hee University, College of Medicine, Seoul, Korea, followed by attending the M.A Graduate School, Korea in 1994 and a Ph.D in 2004. Dr. Shim is also certified by various boards, such as the, Korean Medical Association, 1987, the Korean Board of Neurological Surgery, 1996 and the American Academy of Minimally Invasive Spinal Medicine and Surgery, 2002. He is an expert at diagnosing and surgically treating advanced disorders of the nervous system. This inlcudes congenital anomalies, trauma, tremors, infections of the brain/stroke and the spine. Dr. Shim has been conferred many awards and honours, some of which are international too.  He has attended +30 lectures at various scientific conferences and CME conferences including the UAE. During 2000-10, he trained 39 Korean and international spine fellows. He has many published articles to his name and has also authored books and book chapters.
