About Dr. Deepak Desai Dr. Deepak Desai is an eminent General & Laparoscopic Surgeon with 32+ years of experience. He is a Member of the Maharashtra Medical Council, Medical Council of India (MCI), Indian Medical Association (IMA), and also various other charitable organizations. He completed his MBBS from the University Of Mumbai, Mumbai in 1981, and MS – General Surgery from the same university in 1984. Dr. Desai specializes in all varieties of surgeries of Hernias (Laparoscopic as well as Open Repair), Inguinal Hernias, Incisional (Ventral) hernia,  Umbilical hernia, Gall bladder stones (Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy), Haemorrhoids (Piles), etc. He has publications both in international as well as national journals and attended and chaired several conferences.
