About Dr. Dimpna Albert Brotons Dr. Dimpna Albert Brotons is a cardiologist with more than 30 years of expertise in this field. Services provided by her includes care of children with congenital heart disease and severe heart failure, including the use of mechanical circulatory support devices in children, pediatric cardiac transplantation, diagnosis and new treatments in pediatric heart failure, and pediatric pulmonary hypertension, and many more. She got her Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) from the Universitat d’Alacant in 1987, a Master’s degree in Clinical, Hospital, and Managed Care from the Universitat de Barcelona in 2012, and a Master’s degree in Telemedicine from the Universitat Oberta de Catalunya in 2015. Dr. Albert was the Medical Director of the Pediatric Heart Transplantation Program at the University Vall d’Hebron Hospital (Barcelona, Spain) from 2010 to 2019, as well as the co-Director of the Pediatric Pulmonary Hypertension Unit and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the University Autonoma of Barcelona. Dr. Albert was President of the Spanish Society of Pediatric Cardiology and Congenital Heart Disease (SECPCC) from 2010 to 2016 and is a member of the AEPC Educational Committee (Association for European Paediatric and Congenital Heart Disease (AEPC). Other areas of focus in paediatric cardiology include cardiac imaging, innovation, telemedicine, e-Health, and improving the quality of life of children with congenital heart disease.
