About

My mission throughout my career has been to provide patients with exceptional and compassionate care while continuing to develop as a surgeon. Innovative and emerging technologies allow me to enhance surgical accuracy and optimize patient experience and outcomes.

I specialize in robotic-assisted surgery and using artificial intelligence (AI) to tailor care to a patient’s specific needs. Today’s robotic-assisted procedures and the introduction of AI provide the building blocks for further advancements and developments in orthopedic surgery and total joint replacement.

My goal is to return patients to their desired level of activity, relieve their pain, and improve their function. I want them to live a vivacious, rich, and active life. This includes being able to pursue hiking, cycling, skiing, tennis, golf, yoga, and many other activities after total joint replacement.

I have performed thousands of anterior total hip replacements as the primary approach to care and as revision surgery. This minimally invasive approach allows patients to recover and return to their lives more quickly. In addition, I have been a longtime advocate for home-based recovery after total joint replacement and was an early proponent of ambulatory surgery, meaning that patients can go home the same day they have their procedure.

At NYU Langone, my colleagues and I have developed a seamless and thoughtful team approach to care that allows same-day total joint replacement to be a successful option for many of our patients.
