About Dr. Erik Chankiewitz Dr. Erik Chankiewitz is an Ophthalmologist specialising in the treatment of eye disorders. His areas of expertise include performing cataract surgeries and treating Strabismus.  Dr. Chankiewitz is credited with the discovery of carrying out a minimally-invasive glaucoma treatment. Glaucoma patients were given a XEN implant that prevented further increases in intraocular pressure.
