Dr Gopalkrishna Hegde is a leading consultant psychiatrist based in Northampton. With over 20 years of experience, Dr Hegde has extensive experience with several different psychiatric conditions and treatments. His areas of expertise include depression, bipolar mood disorder, psychosis, anxiety, astress related disorders and PTSD.
Dr Hegde currently practices privately at Three Shires Hospital in Northampton and has over a decade of experience working in the NHS.
Dr Hegde first qualified with an MD from the National Institute of Mental Health and Neurosciences in Bangalore, India. He then went on to receive a DNBE from the same institution. He is also a Fellow of the Royal College of Psychiatrists. He completed his training at some of the UK’s most prestigious hospitals, including St George’s, Guys, and St Thomas’s Hospital schemes.
In addition to his areas of expertise, he is also highly experienced in medical psychothterapy, complex emotional needs related conditions, emotionally unstable personality disorders, general adult psychiatry and psychodynamic psychotherapy. Dr Hegde also has experience working in child psychiatry, old age psychiatry, forensic psychiatry and perinatal psychiatry.
Dr Hegde also has extensive teaching experience. He has been an honorary lecturer at King’s College London, and is the deputy director of medical education in Milton Keynes and Medical Psychotherapy Tutor in his teaching roles.
