About Dr. Henry Chan Dr. Henry Chan is an orthopedic surgeon having more than 15 years of expertise. Services provided by him includes computer-assisted joint replacement surgeries, pinless computer navigation and patient-specific instrumentation and robotic surgery. He is also an expert in treating a variety of general orthopaedic problems, sports injuries such ligament tears and meniscus tears, spine conditions like prolapsed intervertebral discs (slipped discs), and the treatment of trauma and fractures in both adults and children. In 2004, he graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a degree in basic medicine. In 2009, he earned his master’s degree and joined the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom. In 2013, he finished his advanced surgical training and earned his fellowship with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Since 2013, Dr. Chan has led the joint replacement unit in Tan Tock Seng Hospital’s orthopaedic surgery department and completed more than 1,000 joint replacements. Dr. Chan received a scholarship from the Ministry of Health’s Health Manpower Development Plan and finished his fellowship in revision hip and knee arthroplasty at the Helios ENDO-Klinik Hamburg, Germany, in 2014. With more than 5,000 joint replacements performed there each year and a focus on intricate revision hip and knee procedures, it is the largest hip and knee reconstruction centre in Europe. He was able to manage a variety of joint replacement issues, including infections, fractures, discomfort, recurring dislocations, stiffness, and loosening, thanks to the revision joint replacement fellowship at Helios ENDO-Klinik. He has accepted invitations to serve as an instructor for basic and advanced joint replacement courses in Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, and India, among other nations. He is a key faculty member of the orthopaedic residency programme at the National Healthcare Group as well as an adjunct assistant professor in the department of orthopaedic surgery at the NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine. Additionally, he taught clinical classes at the Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine. Dr. Henry Chan is fluent in English, and Mandarin.
