About Dr. James Z Pulimuttil Dr. James Z Pulimuttil is a leading General Surgeon with a vast experience of +28 years, with special focus on laparoscopic procedures. Some of his professional affiliations to medical societies include, the Association of Colo Rectal Surgeons of India, the Asia Pacific Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery Society and the Society of American Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. USA. He did his  MBBS in 1984 from the Andhra Medical College and then in 1992, earned the qualification of Master of Surgery from Christian Medical College, Ludhiana.  Thereafter, Dr. Pulimuttil did several fellowships, some of which were from the American College of Surgeons, the Association of Surgeons of India, the Association of colorectal surgeons of India and the International College of Surgeons. Among his major fellowships are, the ones he earned in 2015 from Taiwan and in 2014 in India. Dr. Pulimuttil is an expert general surgeon with specialised skills to perform laparoscopic sleeve gastrectomy/gastric bypass for obesity/ hernia surgery/gall stone disease, metabolic surgery for the treatment of uncontrolled Type 2 diabetes, CBD exploration laparoscopic colectomies and key hole thyroid surgery. He has done extensive research in bariatric and metabolic surgery.  Dr. Pulimuttil has published several papers in international journals, both as sole author and co-author. He has also presented many papers at international bariatric surgery conferences.
