Dr. Joan A. Culpepper-Morgan

I am proud to be practicing gastroenterology in the largest municipal hospital system in the country, NYC Health + Hospitals. I am especially proud to be practicing and teaching at Harlem Hospital. Here we take the terms diversity, equity, and inclusion to be more than hashtags but a call to re-envision healthcare as a way to mature our current one-size-fits-all system into one that acknowledges our differences and reaches out to those previously excluded or marginalized and provides them with the best care possible. To that end, engaging vulnerable populations in colon cancer screening is a major goal for my practice. We also provide care for all diseases of the gastrointestinal tract including peptic ulcer disease, IBD, hepatitis, cirrhosis, and GI/ nutritional care for the bariatric patient.
