About Dr. John Hsiang Dr. John Hsiang is a gastroenterologist having more than 15 years of expertise. Services provided by him includes abdominal pain, bloating, colon cancer screening, dyspepsia, fatty liver, gastritis, heartburn and irritable bowel syndrome. At the end of 2012, Dr. Hsiang completed his specialist training and received the Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians in Gastroenterology. He graduated from Otago Medical School in New Zealand in 2003. Dr. Hsiang’s does radio talk programmes and patient education seminars in fluent Mandarin. He thinks that by arming his patients with more information, they may better understand their own medical conditions and take charge of their own care while the doctor provides direction. He thinks patients ought to leave the clinic feeling more assured and well-equipped to handle their medical situations. Academically, Dr. Hsiang has written more than 25 research on hepatitis B, liver cirrhosis, fatty liver disease, H. pylori infection, colon polypectomy, and hepatitis C. These studies have received more than 600 citations. Dr. Hsiang has long served as an adjunct assistant professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, National University of Singapore, and Duke-NUS medical students in addition to his interests in clinical research. He also serves as a reviewer for a number of prestigious gastroenterology and hepatology journals worldwide. Dr. John Hsiang is fluent in Hokkien, English, and Mandarin.
