About Dr. Jose Montiel Serrano Dr. Jose Montiel Serrano is a cardiac surgeon with more than 30 years of expertise in this field. Services provided by him includes all types of interventions, applying internationally recognized modern techniques with very good results. On a surgical level, he stands out for his experience with coronary bypass surgery without extracorporeal circulation and arterial grafts, mitral repair surgery, aortic root reconstruction surgery (David’s technique), aortic and aortic arch surgery, transcatheter valves, and minimally invasive techniques (substitution of aortic valve for mini-sternotomy, for example).  In 1988, he got his Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, and in 1994, he completed his doctoral studies at the same university. He earned the title of Specialist in Cardiovascular Surgery through MIR in 1995, and the title of “Fellow of the European Board of Cardiothoracic Surgeons (FETCS)” in 2002. Dr. Jose Montiel Serrano is a member of the National Commission for the Specialty of Cardiovascular Surgery. He has Numerous publications in various national and international journals like Revista Española de Cardiología, Annals of Thoracic Surgery, Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, European Journal of Cardiothoracic Surgery, Journal of Heart Valve Disease.
