About Dr. Kau Chung Yuan Dr. Kau Chung Yuan is an orthopedic surgeon having more than 17 years of expertise. Services provided by him includes osteoarthritis, degenerative and inflammatory conditions in the hip and knees. Dr. Kau earned his medical degree from the National University of Singapore in 2004. Dr. Kau earned his postgraduate degree in orthopaedics and a certified fellowship in orthopaedic surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons in Edinburgh in 2014 after graduating from NUS in 2004. He also received a scholarship from the Ministry of Health under the Human Manpower Development Program (HMDP) in 2015. At Southampton University Hospital in the United Kingdom, he completed his residency in Adult Reconstruction Surgery (Hip and Knee). Dr. Kau worked at Tan Tock Seng Hospital until joining Synergy Orthopaedics in 2021. (TTSH). Dr. Kau has expertise in general orthopaedics and trauma care as a result of joining TTSH’s thriving orthopaedic department in 2016. He is also adaptable and talented in ligament reconstructive surgery, sports medicine, and fracture treatment. He has performed numerous revision and complete unicompartmental hip and knee operations. He is a regional instructor for Oxford Partial Knee Arthroplasty (PKA) and is well-versed in the PKA system. Dr. Kau Chung Yuan is fluent in English, Mandarin, Malay, Hokkien, and Bahasa Indonesia.
