About Dr. Kong Hwai Loong Dr. Kong Hwai Loong is an oncologist having more than 25 years of expertise. Services provided by him includes gastrointestinal / liver cancers, breast cancers and lung cancers. Dr. Kong earned his medical degree (MBBS) from the National University of Singapore in 1988, and in 1993 he earned both his membership in the Royal Colleges of Physicians (United Kingdom) and his Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine). Between 1995 and 1997, he received post-graduate medical fellowship training at the New York Hospital – Cornell Medical Center, USA. He was elected to be a fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore, and got his specialty degree in medical oncology in 1998. In 2002, Dr. Kong graduated with a master’s degree in business administration from Massachusetts Institute of Technology in the United States. In 2004, he was selected to join the Royal College of Physicians (Edinburgh, UK) as a fellow. Accolades and Success. Dr. Kong has received various national and international honours, such as the National Day Award, Singapore Youth Award, Young Scientist Award from the Singapore Academy of Science, and the Merit Award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology. Formerly serving as both the Deputy Chairman of the Ministry of Health’s Specialist Training Committee in Medical Oncology and the Chapter of Medical Oncologists’ Chapter Chairman. Dr. Kong is fluent in Cantonese, English, Hokkien, Indonesian, Mandarin, and Teochew.
