About Dr. Leyla Kandur Dr. Leyla Kandur is an eye specialist with over 25 years of experience in this profession. The doctor’s services include cornea, laser surgery, cataract, and many more. Dr. Leyla Kandur earned her medical degree from Istanbul University Medical School in 1989 and went on to Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty to pursue a specialty in eye diseases in 1993. She was named the best student at the American Robert Gymnasium in 1983. She finished her postdoctoral studies at Johns Hopkins University’s Wilmer Eye Institute.  She studied pre-segment surgery (cataract, cornea, and laser surgery) at the University of California between 1993 and 1997.  She has spoken at numerous international conferences and published in the most prominent journals on behalf of the University of California.  She has aided in the training of many ophthalmologists and researchers in the United States. Bausch & Lomb honoured her as the best young researcher in 1997.  She was then selected as the first and only Turkish ophthalmologist for the Eyestar programme by the University of California Jules Stein Eye Institute for her medical achievements and research. Dr. Leyla Kandur is a member of the American Contact Lens Association, the American Academy of Eyes, the American Cataract and Refractive Surgery Association, the Vision Research Institute, and the American Academy of Eyes. Dr. Leyla Kandur is fluent German and in English.
