About Dr. Lim Kay Kiat Dr. Lim Kay Kiat is an orthopedic surgeon having more than 10 years of expertise. Services provided by him includes foot and ankle surgery with interests in running- and cycling-related injuries. The National University of Singapore (NUS), where Dr. Lim received his medical degree, was in 1996. In 2001, he was enrolled as a Member of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh after pursuing postgraduate studies in surgery. He graduated from the National University of Singapore (NUS) with a Master of Medicine in Orthopedic Surgery the following year, and in 2005 he was admitted as a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh in Orthopedic Surgery. Later, Dr. Lim received the SingHealth Talent Development Fund, a scholarship that allowed him to enrol in the University of Toronto as a Foot and Ankle Fellow. From 2006 to 2007, he received additional speciality training at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto, Canada. Dr. Lim is particularly involved in academia. He is in charge of instructing first-year medical students at NUS’ Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, where he maintains a teaching appointment. He mentors and oversees trainee orthopaedic surgeons as part of his involvement in the training of these specialists. Over the past few years, he has served as a member of the teaching staff for the NUS’ Postgraduate Course in Orthopedic Surgery, which is geared toward local and foreign trainee orthopaedic surgeons. Dr. Lim has additional experience outside of orthopaedic surgery. Since 2004, he has taught the Advanced Trauma Life Support course and served as an advisor and mentor for biomechanical students at NUS’ Faculty of Engineering. Dr. Lim is an accomplished endurance athlete outside of work. He has completed many Ironman 70.3 triathlons and marathons. Since the first race in 2008, Dr. Lim has been a member of the medical staff attending the Singapore Grand Prix. He oversaw trackside security and emergency medical care for racing accidents as the track medical service’s deputy chief medical officer in 2009. Dr. Lim Kay Kiat is fluent in English, Mandarin, Hokkien, and Teochew.
