About Dr. Mahir Ozmen Dr. Mahir Ozmen is a General Surgeon with an experience of more than 27 years in the field. He is the President of the Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery Association, the Board Member of the National Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Association, the General Secretary of the National Trauma and Emergency Surgery Association, the Turkish Surgical Association (EKPDK) Secretary and the European Endoscopic Laparoscopic Surgery Association (EAES) Education & Training Committee. He received the F.A.C.S title given by the American College of Surgeons and the F.R.C.S title given by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow. He graduated from Ankara University Faculty of Medicine in 1989 and became a general surgeon in 1995. He also received an M.S (Master of Surgery) degree from the University of Southampton in 1997. Dr. Ozmen worked in the field of organ transplantation at Cambridge University Addenbrooke’s Hospital and London Kings College Hospital between 2000-2001 and later in 2012 he received his Subspecialty in Surgical Oncology. He has expertise in General Surgery, Bariatric and Metabolic Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Gastrointestinal Surgery, Laparoscopic Surgery, Robotic Surgery, Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery, Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Surgery, Kidney Transplantation, etc. In addition to many book chapters in foreign and domestic books, translation, and copyright book editors, he has written over 150 scientific publications, mostly in foreign journals.
