About Dr. med. Utz Schernikau Dr. med. Utz Schernikau is a General & Visceral Surgeon with experience of more than 24+ years in the field. He is a member of reputed organizations such as the German Society for Visceral Surgery, Berlin Surgical Society, BDC, and many more. He studied human medicine in Berlin (Humboldt University) and Dublin (University College) from 1989 – 1996. In 2005, he did his further training in sub-specialization in Visceral Surgery at SANA Lichtenberg (Prof. Gellert) He received his Ph.D. (prenatal diagnosis of lung malformations, Prof. Bollmann, Charité) in 1997. Dr. Schernikau is specialized in procedures like Roux-y gastric bypass, gastric sleeve resection, gastric band surgery, biliopancreatic diversion, revision surgeries, minimally invasive procedures, etc. He has more than 60 international journals and more than 10 domestic articles.
