About Dr. Mireia Ruiz Castilla Dr. Mireia Ruiz Castilla is a Plastic, Aesthetic and Reconstructive Surgeon with more than 10 years of expertise in this field. Services provided by her includes medical-surgical management of breast pathology, cutaneous oncology, burns, facial fractures, hand surgery and alterations of skin coverage, both in the use of conventional and microsurgical techniques, and many more. She earned her medical and surgical degrees from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (1998-2004) and finished her specialised training in Plastic, Reconstructive, and Aesthetic Surgery through the MIR programme (2005 – 2010).  PhD in Surgery from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, with a Cum Laude qualification and Diploma in Robotic Surgery from the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lorraine, France, on the topic “Role of the Il33/ST2 Axis in the Burn Patient.” 2018. She has integrated her work in health care with teaching and vital educational and research work throughout her career.  She is the author or co-author of a number of articles and scientific publications, as well as a frequent speaker at speciality conferences.  She is also a researcher in numerous lines of research in the field of burn patient monitoring and the usage of innovative treatments. She is registered with registration number ‍39152. Dr. Ruiz has worked in prestigious national and international hospitals and also runs the Institut Ruiz Castilla, a plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery institute.
