About Dr. Nikhil Baljekar Dr. Nikhil Baljekar has a rich experience of +34 years as a General Surgeon in the field of general surgery. He holds professional memberships as a fellow of the, International College of Surgeons, the Indian Association of Surgeons and the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endoscopic Surgeons. Dr. Baljekar has done MBBS from Grant Medical College, Byculla, Mumbai in 1981. He then studied at the College of Physicians & Surgeons in 1981. In 1985, he did MS from Grant Medical College and a year later he earned the fellowship of the College of Physicians & Surgeons (FCPS). In 1988, he completed a diploma in urology from Sackler University and then in 2007, earned the membership of the Royal College of Surgeons.  Thereafter, he did several trainings to gain expertise in pediatric, orthopedic and cancer surgeries in Mumbai between 1983-87. Between 1988-93, he did basic urology training at Belgaum. For a brief period, he worked at the Harrogate District Hospital, U.K. He is an expert general surgeon with specialised skills in laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic/open hernia, appendicetomy, cholecystectomy, breast surgery, thyroid surgery, hemorrhoids, fistula, fissure surgery and abscess drainage. Baljekar’s special interest lies in all general surgery, hernia surgery, proctology and diabetic foot. He has contributed few research papers to leading medical journals.
