About Dr. Prakash V S Dr. Prakash V S is an interventional cardiologist and cardiac electrophysiologist with 26+ years of experience. His areas of expertise include performing Implantable devices such as Cardioverter-Defibrillator (ICD) and Cardiac Resynchronisation Therapy, interventional electrophysiology procedures, which include Electrophysiology (EP) and Radiofrequency ablations (RFA) and Atrial fibrillation. He is among the few cardiologists who are the primary operators for various arrhythmias including WPW, AVNRT and other Accessory Path. Dr. Prakash is the first doctor in India to perform catheter-based ablation for Atrial Fibrillation in 1999. He holds MBBS from the University of Karnataka, Karnataka, MD in medicine from BMC, Bangalore, DM in Cardiology from KMC, Manipal and completed his Fellowship in Cardiac Clinical Electrophysiology at Veterans General Hospital in Taipei, Taiwan. He also did a fellowship in cardiology from Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions, USA; a fellowship from the American College of Cardiology and fellowship from the European Society of Cardiology. He has authored 41 articles in international peer-reviewed journals, 34 abstracts in International Conferences and 4 chapters in textbooks. He has been awarded the Mahindra & Mahindra/Nightingale Award for one of the 10 leading personalities in the field of Medicine, 2003.
