About Dr. Prasan Rao Dr. Prasan Rao is an Ophthalmologist with extensive 24+ years of experience. His area of specialization includes vitreo-retina-macular diseases, medical and surgical retina, ocular inflammation and uveitis, ocular tumors, ocular imaging and trauma, cataract.  Dr. Rao has completed his medical degree at King Edward Memorial Hospital, Mumbai, with distinction in Ophthalmology, he pursued his post-graduate training at L.T.M.General Hospital and Sir J.J. Group of Hospital, Mumbai. To date, he has worked earlier in Sankara Nethralaya & Vision Research Foundation (Chennai, India). He is board certified by the National Board for Ophthalmology (India). He is a Member of the European Society of Vitreoretinal Surgery (EVRS), an International Member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO), Member of the American Society of Retina Specialists (ASRS). He has performed over 3000 cataract surgeries (by phacoemulsification), over 1500 vitreoretinal surgeries, and over 500 combined (Phaco and vitrectomy) in UAE since 2003.
