About Dr. (Prof.) Bhabatosh Biswas Dr. (Prof.) Bhabatosh Biswas is an adept and distinguished doctor with experience of 44 years specialising in Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery. His areas of expertise include General Thoracic Surgery especially Lung Cancer Surgery, Tracheo Bronchial Reconstructive Surgery, and Tropical Thoracic Surgery – Hydatids, TB & other Infective diseases. In addition, he also specialises in VATS, Thoracic Endoscopy – Bronchoscopy, Esophagoscopy, Mediastinoscopy etc., Adult Cardiac Surgery – CABG and Valve replacement, Paediatric Cardiac Surgery – repair of congenital cardiac defects, Cardiac Pacemaker implantation, Vascular Surgery, and Cardio-Thoracic Trauma. Dr Biswas has received numbers of awards including the prestigious Sir Nil Ratan Sircar Gold Medal. He has published countless numbers of publications and volumes in the Indian Journal of Thoracic and Vascular Surgery, Indian Heart Journal, Journal of Indian Medical Association, Indian Heart Journal, the Calcutta Medical Journal etc. He was the Former Vice-Chancellor, The West Bengal University of Health Sciences, Kolkata and Former Vice President, National Board of Examinations (NBE), New Delhi. He has several Life Memberships including the Indian Association of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons (IACTS), Cardiological Society of India (CSI)., Association of Surgeons of India (ASI), Asian Society of Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgeons, Association of Minimal Access Surgeons of India( AMASI), Indian Medical Association (IMA), Indian Society of Critical Care Medicine, Indian Science Congress Association, Indian Society for Management of Pain, Academy of Medical specialities, Indian Medical Association, College of General Practitioners, Indian Medical Association, Calcutta Medical Club, and the Indian Association of Bronchology.
