About Dr. Purushotam Lal Dr Purshottam Lal is an internationally recognised interventional cardiologist. After completing his MD, he undertook training from some of the renowned medical institutes UK, Germany & USA. He is also a fellow from American College of Cardiology, American College of Medicine, Royal College of Physician (Canada), British Cardiovascular Interventional Society, German Society of Cardiovascular Research. Dr Lal has a uniqueness for introducing the largest number of procedures in the field of Interventional Cardiology in India like Slow Rotational Angioplasty, Diamond Drilling, Heart Hole Closure, Stenting etc. He is the most Decorated Interventional Cardiologist by the President of India. He has pioneered his own technique of left atrio femoral bypass support (Partial Artificial Heart) for high risk Interventional Procedures , opening tight heart valve (Mitral Valvuloplasty) He was the first doctor in Medical Literature to perform high risk Aortic Valvuloplasty. Dr Lal also introduced the INQUE Balloon, which is the most popular balloon for opening tight valve, in the country. He developed a new concept of “Metro Coronary Screening” for the patients who have been having phobia of conventional coronary angiography.  Dr Lal has performed the largest number of angioplasties/stenting as a single operator in the country. Dr P Lal has been listed several times in Limca Book of World Records. He has been honoured by Padma Vibhushan Award, the highest Padma award by the President of India.
