About Dr. Rakesh Rai Sapra Dr. Rakesh Rai Sapra is a well-known Cardiologist practicing for more than 18 years. He is known to have performed over 1,000 independent vascular interventions including coronary angioplasties, balloon valvotomy, peripheral angioplasties including renal and carotid angioplasties, and congenital interventions including PDA and ASD closures. After completing his MBBS in 1989, he pursued MD in Internal Medicine from PGIMER Chandigarh in 1993 followed by DM in Cardiology from AIIMS, New Delhi in 1996. In 2001, he achieved training certification in Cardiac Electrophysiology from Mount Sinai Medical School, New York, USA, and Brigham and Womenâs Hospital, Boston, USA. In 2006, he was awarded the Best Case award at the AICT conference in New Delhi. He is an active member of the Cardiological Society of India.
