About Dr. Ramesh Subramaniam Dr. Ramesh Subramaniam is an orthopedic surgeon having more than 18 years of expertise. Services provided by him includes arthroscopic sports surgery of the shoulder, knee, hip and elbow. He is also trained to perform knee, shoulder and elbow joint replacements. He earned his undergraduate degrees from the National University of Singapore (NUS) and his orthopaedic surgery master’s degree there as well. He pursued extensive surgical training in orthopaedic surgery and earned the title of fellow in trauma and orthopaedic surgery from the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, UK. The Ministry of Health gave Dr. Ramesh a grant under the Health Manpower Development Plan to pursue speciality training in shoulder and knee surgery at the Sports Surgery Clinic in Dublin, Ireland. At the Hospital Quirón Barcelona in Spain, he was given the TTSH scholarship to pursue a sports fellowship in knee surgery. At NUS Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine, he was named clinical senior lecturer and afterwards adjunct assistant professor. He was the chairman of the committee that evaluated the hand surgery residency programme at the National Healthcare Group (NHG), where he serves as faculty. He has supervised the sports surgery fellowship at TTSH and mentored clinical fellows from Malaysia, the Philippines, and India. Numerous articles of Dr. Ramesh have been published in worldwide, peer-reviewed journals. Additionally, he has lectured and shown surgical techniques at various worldwide knee and shoulder surgery seminars and training courses in addition to presenting his work on stages at conferences throughout the world. He has volunteered to conduct free surgery in Indonesia with the Buddhist Compassion Relief Tzu Chi Foundation. He has worked with the Singapore Navy to establish Indosin Bhakti Sosial, which offers primary healthcare to villages in the Indonesian Riau Islands. He received the Ministry of Health award for humanitarian assistance work in 2006 for his efforts during the Yogyakarta earthquake. Dr. Ramesh Subramaniam is fluent in English, Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, Tamil, and Malay.
