About Dr. Ramon Cugat Bertomeu Dr. Ramon Cugat Bertomeu is an orthopedist with more than 24 years of expertise in this field. Services provided by him includes Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy and many more. He conducted post-graduate studies and a specialty in Arthroscopic Surgery and Sports Traumatology at the Department of Sports Medicine and Arthroscopy of the Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology Service of the General Hospital of Massachusetts, and obtained his PhD from UB School of Medicine (Massachussetts, USA). At Massachusetts General Hospital in 1998, he was the first Augustus Thorndike Visiting Lecturer in Sports Medicine. He has published over 102 peer-reviewed articles, 10 book chapters, and two books, as well as serving as a referee for five international magazines. Over 1000 national and international conferences and training courses have also been attended by him. Dr. Cugat is a member of the Arthroscopical Laboratory of Barcelona University’s Morphological and Odontoestomatology School, as well as an orthopaedic surgeon and sports trauma doctor for the Barcelona Dragons of the NFL International and the Medical Assessor of the President of the Catalan Football Federation. Dr. Ramon Cugat Bertomeu is a founding member of the Spanish Arthroscopy Association, as well as an Honorary Member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America (AANA), the Indian Arthroscopy Society, the Association of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of Chile, and the Association of Orthopaedics and Traumatology of Georgia. He is also a member of international societies such as the European Society of Sports, Knee Surgery, and Arthroscopy (ESSKA), the International Society of Arthro The Garcia Cugat Foundation for Biomedical Research was founded by Drs. Ramon and Montse Cugat.
