About Dr. Reuben Wong K.M. Dr. Reuben Wong K.M. is a Consultant Gastroenterologist at Mount Alvernia Hospital, Singapore. Dr. Wong has nearly 20 years of experience and holds a specialization in the management of reflux and swallowing disorders, Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS), gut microbiota, chronic constipation, and diarrhea. He continues to be an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine and a Visiting Consultant at the National University Hospital (NUH). He is the President of the IBS Support Group of Singapore. After obtaining his MBBS from NUS in 1998, Dr. Wong achieved membership in the Royal College of Physicians in 2004. In 2008, he got accreditation as a Gastroenterologist by the Ministry of Health and was elected to be a fellow of the Academy of Medicine. Through the HMDP scholarship awarded by the Ministry of Health, Singapore, Dr. Wong pursued sub-specialty training at the University of North Carolina (UNC). He sharpened his medical skills in the management of complex functional gastrointestinal disorders within a multi-disciplinary setting and trained in esophageal motility and anorectal manometry testing under the mentorship of Professors Douglas Drossman and William Whitehead of the Rome Foundation. He has papers and publications published in peer-reviewed journals and authored several book chapters.
