Dr Richard Kaczmarski is a leading haematologist based at the London Haematology Clinic. With more than 35 years of experience, Dr Kaczmarski specialises in the diagnosis and treatment of haematological malignancies, including myeloma, red cell disorders, lymphoma, anaemia, sickle cell diseases, and routinely performs stem cell transplants, CAR T-cell therapy and blood transfusions.

Dr Kaczmarski graduated from King’s College Hospital Medical School in London in 1984, having completed research into the role of haemopoietic growth factors in myelodysplastic syndromes and HIV. He subsequently trained in internal medicine at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and then received his haematology training from King’s College Hospital, during which he held research posts funded by the Wellcome Trust and the Medical Research Council. Dr Kaczmarski later accomplished higher specialist haematology training at Hammersmith Hospital.

Dr Kaczmarski is heavily involved in research conducted by the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and participates in both commercial and academic clinical trials and research for the investigation of anaemias, coagulation, red cell disorders and thrombotic issues. He has published in peer-reviewed journals and has written various medical articles and book chapters. He is also the specialty lead for cancer in the North West London Clinician Research Network and helped to establish the West London Cancer Research Network as well.

Beyond his extensive clinical duties, Dr Kaczmarski is also an honorary lecturer at the Imperial College, London and an examiner for the Royal College of Pathologists. Alongside the London Haematology Clinic, Dr Kaczmarski also holds consultant haematologist and clinical lead posts at Hillingdon Hospital. In addition, he also works at The London Clinic, where he is the director of the stem cell laboratory and chairs the Hospital Transfusion Committee.

Dr Kaczmarski is a double fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and the Royal College of Pathologists, as well as a member of various professional organisations, including the British Society for Haematology.
