Dr Sachin Khambadkone is a leading consultant interventional cardiologist who specialises in paediatric and adolescent cardiology among other areas of expertise. Dr Khambadkone has over 25 years of clinical experience, and has been working at renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH) since 1997 and also practices at BMI The Kings Oak Hospital and The Portland Hospital. 

Dr Khambadkone began his studies in India where he received his diploma in child health at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons. He then continued his studies in London at the Royal College of Physicians where he gained his MRCP Paediatrics and CCST Paediatric Cardiology qualifications. Dr Khambadkone has gained extensive training in general paediatrics, neonatology and paediatric cardiology, and during this formative period, he was a British Heart Foundation research fellow and conducted clinical research in Fontan circulation. He is a recognised expert in treating and diagnosing all areas related to cardiology.  

Dr Khambadkone is qualified in the use of advanced imaging technologies and 3D modelling to plan treatments. He is always eager to employ the most novel techniques and up-to-date devices to improve the outcome for his patients, which has revolutionised valve repair and replacement procedures. In fact, Dr Khambadkone was also one of the leaders in the introduction of percutaneous pulmonary valve implantation, a valve replacement technique that does not require open heart surgery,  

Dr Khambadkone is the clinic lead for transition in cardiology at Great Ormond Street, treating teenage patients in at the Transition Clinic, a clinic he established.  He also heads the Grown Up Congenital Heart unit at St Barts, with his team of nurse specialists. As the founder of the event “Rhythmic Beats”, an event for teenagers with congenital heart disease, Dr Khambadkone provided an event for young people experiencing similar health struggles to share their experiences and make their transition process easier.
